How to get Snowed Under endings

Steam ships two story achievements: Ending A and Ending B. Global stats shortly after launch showed more players with A than B, which matches the idea that B is extra work or a second pass. There is also Lost to the Cold (freeze outside), which is a death flag, not a story ending.

This wiki will not invent a hidden item code that Chilla’s Art never named. Launch discussion is still young. What follows is labeled as confirmed versus player-reported.

Confirmed by Steam

• Ending A exists as an achievement named Ending A.
• Ending B exists as an achievement named Ending B.
• The Full Story wants every document read.
• A Signal in the Snow is reaching the radio tower.
• A Friendly Face is meeting the NPC.

You should assume the tower climb is on the critical path for a story finish. Patch 1.04 even patched a freeze VFX bug on the tower roof, which is a strong hint that the roof is a scripted beat, not scenery.

Player-reported: A then B

A Steam thread titled “How do you get Ending B?” already exists. The poster had explored places and read documents. A Japanese review (spoiler section) said you need to step on Ending A before B, and that B felt like a cleanup route. The same review was confused that flowers could bloom after A without extra actions.

Treat that as a working theory:

1. Play a normal route: upgrades, Kai talks, documents you find, tower.
2. Get Ending A and let the achievement pop.
3. Continue or reload as the game allows, then look for the resolution state that players associate with B (including reports of flowers).
4. If B does not pop, you are missing a flag. The missing piece is often unread documents, skipped Kai lines, or unvisited story interiors, not a harder shovel tier.

Do not delete your save the second A appears. Several people asked about B the same day they finished A.

What probably does not gate endings

• 100 scraps. That is Leave Nothing Behind.
• 20 cans. That is Prepared for the Storm.
• All buildings. That is No Shelter Left Unseen.
• All patron contents. That is Patrons, sitting near 0% globally, almost certainly a completion badge rather than Ending B.

You can still do those on the same save. They are just the wrong mental model for “why is B locked.”

Story tone without a full recap

Store copy asks what Kai thinks and what the protagonist begins to feel. Official Japanese posts framed the game as psychological plus supernatural horror: maybe the frightening thing is a person. Reviews mention a ghost’s lore landing better than the finale, an oblivious lead, and cutscenes that break immersion for some. A Japanese write-up connected the background to gendered social harm turning into a curse. This page will not flatten that into a one-line twist. Toshi is named in player notes as someone the plot circles. Kai is the camp companion. If a conversation option appears, take it. Silent mining is how people reach the tower with a thin script.

Practical ending route

1. Keep daily talks current (base camp).
2. Read documents as you find them; dump extras on a second pass for The Full Story.
3. Reach the tower when the shovel can cut the far snow (How to Dig).
4. Update to the latest patch so roof VFX and achievement triggers (1.06) are not lying to you.
5. After A, use the ending checklist before you assume B is broken.

If Steam still withholds B after a thorough document pass, watch the endings video’s late chapters (the creator labeled Ending A, Ending B, and Old Building) and compare your map to the landmarks list. Then check patch notes in case 1.06 already moved a trigger.
